At night, follow the direction you see Bandit groups moving in when they are not threatened by other forces to get an idea where the camp may be.
However, they will choose to flee from Lords and Manhunter parties (Stronger ones) if those are nearby, rather than trying to make it to their camp. (Because these quests are random and Hideouts are sometimes ridiculously difficult to find, I don't regard using the Teleport cheat during the last few days of the mission as a "cheat.")ģ) Revealing the map by using the Remove Fog of War cheat will not reveal bandit Hideouts.Ĥ) Nearby Bandits will generally try to return to their hideout at night. Nothing ever happens/get's updated when time is not passing in this game and that includes the ability to see what's in front of you. This is also true of normal movement as you will sometimes have to linger in an area before the Hideout becomes visible. This is the most important skill you can have when doing this sort of quest.Ģ) Using CTRL-Left-Click to Teleport around the map will not reveal the Hideout, even if you Teleport right beside it, until you move what I consider to be "one game tick's worth of movement" - Generally a couple of "steps" with your Campaign Map icon or a momentary press of the spacebar to force time to progress. A good Spotting skill will help to uncover them. However, just as a tip, if this is a generic "Destroy the bandit hideout" quest, here's some pointers that are accurate for Warband and, I assume, are likely accurate for VC :ġ) Bandit Lairs are invisible until they are Spotted. I don't own VC and am not familiar with it. I already wasted 1 and half hours combing woods and hills but found none.
